Unless you’ve lived in a cave or on a deserted island the past years, you must know that woven home decor pieces are THE trend right now. Seriously! This age old technique has made a tremendous comeback. And we love it!
That’s why we created this Master Modern Tapestry Weaving CraftJam so you can get a jumpstart to this technique and make your own unique wall hangings and decorations for your home. This is the class our whole CraftJam team has been buzzing about!
In this CraftJam you will learn:

what kind of materials used in weaving
how to start your weaving project
how to warp and use a loom
tips and techniques on how to weave different patterns
how to finish your weaving work

From this class you get to take home a finished woven piece the size of x and x and a loom to continue practicing your weaving skills.
We have all the materials ready for you. Just bring your friends and a drink of your choice. We are BYOB friendly!

A shotgun for home defense can be an awesome tool. Knowing how to use it effectively is even better! The shotgun is one of the best ‘multiple/variable projectile’ systems there are. The HDS1 course will teach you the proper way to handle, load, and operate your shotgun in a defensive setting, while the Home Defense Shotgun 2 will teach you how to run your shotgun in various positions, situations, and under some skill based drills that will push you to your limits while keeping you focused on the objective – to win!

Brooklyn: Blacklist Book Club: March 26, 2017

Our upcoming discussion will focus on the highly celebrated book The Mis-Education of the Negro, written by author, scholar, and journalist, Carter G. Woodson. As it relates to the text, we will analyze the role of education, specifically in urban communities, in contributing to a series debilitating factors effecting the Black community.

Blacklist Book Club is a bi-monthly multicultural social event focused solely on the discussion of Black literature and the interlocking themes associated with race, gender and class in America and other sections of the African Diaspora. The event is curated in New York City by writer and entrepreneur Amira Rasool and co-moderated by Corey Smith-West.

The Sunday afternoon event will feature a one hour social period where guest are encouraged to socialize and independently discuss the featured literature and topics related to the books theme. During this time, light refreshments and drinks will be availble via a cash bar.

For the discussion portion of the event attendees are encouraged to share their thoughts on the book and discuss relevant topics and events.
