April 28, 2017 at Viet-Americans Rise Up in New York.

On April 28, Vietnamese women will wear their traditional dress, the Ao Dai, to work, to play, and to whatever they may be doing. We encourage EVERYONE, even those who are not Vietnamese, to join us and wear your traditional threads too. If you don’t have outfits, maybe share some ethnic foods or just spend the day learning about each other. It’s time we SEE you, the immigrants and refugees that make the fabric of this great nation and that we stand together.

***Please join us and help spread the word. Like this, share this, and wear some cool outfits on April 28!*** #AoDaiApril28 #RepYoThreads #DontFearMeLearnMe #WearYourRoots4Refugees

P.S. We believe there is an urgency to help those trying to escape horrifying conditions and that this is a bipartisan issue. Currently the worse humanitarian crisis is the Syrian Refugee Crisis. We encourage you to donate time or money to organizations such as the IRC, Oxfam, MSF (Doctors Without Borders), etc., regardless of your ability to join us for this specific event, and on any date. You can find the links on this page. This event is without any political motive. Whether you support the ban, the current immigration policies or not, I hope you see that we can still help beyond our borders even if only by sharing a few moments of your time or a little of your spare change.
