About Ximena Savitch
Ximena is an advanced certified yoga teacher, activist and healer whose classes align the body, heart and spirit with all of life. Her teachings encourage students to go beyond the physical and listen to the divine voice that arises from deep within—a presence that reminds us of our interconnection with all that exists. As this awareness grows, we awaken to our true selves who, by nature, are compassionate and loving and long to “be the change we wish to see in the world.” Ximena’s teachings draw from her own life experiences and reflect her strong call to live in the service of others. She was born in Lima, Peru, grew up in the suburbs of Washington, DC and currently resides in New York City. Ximena began teaching yoga in 2008, graduated from the Jivamukti Yoga™ teacher training in 2009, and received her advanced certification in 2012. She continues to study yoga as a holistic path to healing. She is grateful to her beloved teachers, Sharon Gannon and David Live, and to all of the teachers from whom she has learned and who continue to inspire her and illuminate her path.

About Geleni Fontaine, LAc., RN
I’m a fat, queer, Latina/o transperson raised and thriving in Brooklyn, New York. I’m a graduate of the Swedish Institute School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine where I studied Traditional and Classical Chinese Medicine with Jeffrey Yuen, 88th generation Taoist priest and healer. I’m also a registered nurse and use knowledge of Western allopathic medicine to support my holistic East-Asian practice, helping individuals navigating both healthcare systems.

I’m a member of the Rock Dove Collective, a group of healers, providers, and activists coordinating a radical community health exchange in NYC; a former board member of the Audre Lorde Project, the first queer people of color center for community organizing in the U.S.; and NOLOSE, an organization dedicated to ending the oppression of fat people and creating vibrant fat queer culture. I have a 13-year history of training and teaching martial arts and have worked many years with the Center for Anti-Violence Education (CAE) as a youth educator, anti-violence activist, and crisis intervention worker. This experience has lent to my understanding of healing as a mind / body / spirit construct that includes support for individuals as well as radical responses to the institutional oppression we face as communities.
