Restorative Yoga uses props (blankets, bolsters, pillows, blocks, etc.) and specific poses to allow deep tissue stretches within the body. A very limited number of poses held for longer periods of time allow for deeply held tension within the body to release. Restorative Yoga is appropriate for any and all levels and abilities, and particularly for those healing from illness and/or injury.
No prior yoga experience is necessary, this is beneficial and useful for every body! People have been quoted as saying “It’s like giving yourself a massage with your breath.”
